Peter and Jane McCracken have run Taynuilt Trees as a small tree nursery near their home in Argyll, Scotland since 1993.
We grow tree species native to Argyll: collecting most of our seed locally. We grow the trees in the open ground for one or two years and hand-lift and grade them giving them a very high survival rate.
Our tree nursery is integral to our rural family lifestyle in the Scottish hills - with just two of us collecting seed, planting, weeding, watering and lifting the trees we can guarantee each is properly nurtured and ready to be planted out to create new native woodland.
Our two children, Rhona and Neil - although older now - still like a ride on the tractor but never want to get their hands muddy! We also keep a handful of Jacob sheep on our croft.
